Team DriftMonkey are now going back to its roots, and stand out more as a concept team with different driver setup, for the different events. That makes everything more exciting, and more to look forward too.

First out is Reidar Andresen. Our Norwegian driver that came onboard in 2011. Reidar is one of the better drivers in Norway. He won the norwegian Powerdrift series in 2010. And is one hell of a person! If you know him, you will probably agree. If you dont know him, come by and talk to him this summer. He`s a great person and driver! Reidar is driving an Nissan Silvia S13 (One Via) that is powered by an Toyota 1JZ engine.

Next out is a new guy. Erik Rese Kallin. Erik is the new member for 2012. Erik came onboard after some discussion back and forth. He is a “hungry” driver with passion for good times behind the steering wheel. He drives a 1JZ powered Toyota Soarer with some nice mods under the hood. We have faith in him, and feel that he will represent the Monkey colour well!

So who is our X-driver? The 3rd car in the team is the well known, and well spoken 2JZ powered Nissan Silvia S15. The first 2JZ powered Nissan in Norway, and maybe the most spoked about S15 here in Norway too. The rumours say that this season is the last season for the S15 in the DriftMonkey team. But lets not speak about that now. Lets look at whos driving it this season?!

We have 3 big Gatebil events in the next 2 months. And for the first event 25th to 27th of May, we have chosen Nigel Colfer from Irland. An awesome driver that has been in the game for a long time. Nigel drives a 180sx with a 1JZ engine. He made it into the 2nd place in the European drift series ‘Drift Allstars’ in 2011. Nigel is an open and very proffessional driver. Come by the “Monkey booth” and talk to him. He loves to get to know new people!

In the middle of June (15th – 17th), we leave Norway for the weekend, and go together with Gatebil to Sweden and Mantorp. We have good memories from that track! And what is better than bringing a Finnish guy to Sweden?! In Sweden we will have Juha Rintanen as the driver, in the 2JZ powered S15.  Do you know him? No? Here is some of his past achivements.

1^st place – Finnish Drift Open Pro Series 2011

2^nd place – FX Open Drift Challenge 2011, Belarus

1^st place – FIA NEZ Champion 2011, Latvia

2^nd place – IDS European Drift Championship 2011, Nurburgring

Juha is not only a great driver. He is also a cool guy that anyone can talk to, and have good times with. We feel he will do an awesome job for us!

We have now reached July, and are back again in Norway. We are ready for “the event of the year”! GATEBIL in July is the most talked about event in Europe at the moment. And we will be there with cars, booth and drivers. The X-driver for this event is none other than James Deane. An irish lad that has been in the game for a long time. And won rounds and series around in Europe. We like James Deane! And know you guys will too! He drove the famous ‘Low Brain Drifters Silvia S13′ in 2011, and won the whole European series, Drift Allstars. He has also been a driver for Falken in Formula D. He will be a great driver and ambassador for DriftMonkey!

Looks like this Monkey wants to fight to the last man. Thats the spirit! But I can assure you all that the new layout will be just a crazy and cool as the 2011 look.

Most of our partners and sponsors are with us from last season. And some new has also come onboard. Contour Cams has been with us for 2 years now. And we are proud to have them as an close partner for another year.

Monster Energy is new for 2012. And we look forward to be fueled up by them all season long.

The cars and wheels shall now be cleaned up, and made ready for the new graphics that will come on in a few weeks. Then its release day, and of course you guys will be the first to see it!

More Monkey updates on the Evo!

The Monkey Evo is progressing. Outside there arent that much to do. We are still focusing on the inside of the car. Allot to remove. Next week we are planning to start on the rollercage.

A massiv front! With and massive intercooler.

There are still some job inside with the wiring. The rollercage is going in very soon now.

Looks like he will have great potential with these parts.

The car is getting a shape up.

New turbo kit for 2012. Here is the manifold he shall use.

The Engine need cold air. And these fans are going to fix that.
